SafePave

PREVENT PERSONAL INJURY BY INSTALLING A “SAFEPAVE” TREATED TILE OR PAVER.

SafePave – “Injury protection for raised floor Pavers and Tiles.”
What is SafePave?

SafePave is a system that strengthens tiles and pavers that are used in pedestal and substructure installations to make them safer. This added strength broadens the range of tiles that can be used in these applications.

SafePave:

  • Reduces the incidence of tiles breaking due to impact,

  • Prevents "tile breakthrough" - (where an object or person falls through a tile as it breaks)

  • Reduces the risk of injury from cuts caused by broken tiles

  • Increases the range of tiles and tile sizes that can be used on a pedestal system - 1200 x 600mm or natural stone can be used

  • Can be cost-effectively retrofitted to existing installations

  • Reduces the required thickness of the tiles - 10mm thick can now be used.

    • Tile Decks can now be 40% lighter. - Perfect for rooftops or above carparks etc.

    • Lower installation costs - No centre pedestal required

    • Lower Transport costs

    • Less risk of injury to installers

Like toughened glass, tiles used on a raised floor or decking application can shatter or crack with even a small impact in the right place. Even when used traditionally tiles can break, a raised installation has a higher risk of breakage. This leads to the risk of injury from the sharp edges of the tile, or even major injuries from someone falling through.

SafePave reduces these risks with a high strength, antivibration, reinforced protective layer laminated to the underside of the paver or tile. This layer is strong enough to support a weight of up to 2.8kn (download test results) even after the tile is broken.

A tile or paver can still break, but SafePave will prevent the tile shattering leading to cuts and more importantly, it prevents people falling through and hurting themselves.

SafePave can be added to ANY tile or paver, even natural stone, increasing the options available to you for your project. It increases the strength at the same time as reducing the sound transference through to the substrate. Ultimately, SafePave provides a balance of performance, safety and cost-effectiveness that benefits every project stakeholder and future user of the tiled area.

For absolute peace of mind and safety, insist on SafePave for your next pedestal installation project.
